Several years ago, Arlin Dease had a vision to create a cultural arts center that would bring out the best in human nature by communing with one's self, one's friends and one's family. A place so majestic that its beauty would inspire all people and establish an environment where creative minds could come together to enlighten each other. He started his quest for the perfect location to transform this vision into reality. He found 238 acres in the beautiful rolling hills of the Felicianas and started his multi-phase plan to create Hemingbough. The word Hemingbough cannot be found in any dictionary, because as a word, it is indefinable. As a place it is the essence of spiritual purity and tranquillity serving all people as a reaffirmation of the beauty of nature and the peace within.
For those wishing to enjoy the total Hemingbough experience, we offer overnight accommodations. The eight room, two suite Guesthouse operates as a Bed and Breakfast. It is a replica of the garconniere that once graced the grounds of the historic circa 1830 plantation home "Uncle Sam." The spacious rooms are elegantly appointed with queen-size, four-poster, canopied rice beds, private bath, television, and 24-hour in-room telephone service. Our unique End Suites offer private entrances, and open to a covered rocking chair gallery.
The rate for double occupancy is $99.00 per room and $119 per suite. Continental breakfast is available in the beautiful Summer House adjacent to the guesthouse, for you to enjoy at your leisure, serviced from 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. Tour information, with a complete list of nearby restaurants will be placed in your welcome packet.
